The Course

We Bar Course tutor for students studying for the Bar Training Course or Bar Practice Course. The BPTC is being phased out in 2020 and replaced by a series of new Bar Courses. Each supplier will now offer its own programme, each with its own unique and amusing moniker. By September 2020, everyone who has not already finished the BPTC will be required to enrol in one of these new courses. The BSB made this modification to provide flexibility and (hopefully) diversity in what has historically been an extremely exclusive profession. Each year, over 3,000 individuals apply for pupillage, and some chambers receive more than 150 applications for a single slot.
